Welcome to the City of Wapakoneta, Ohio’s Website!
Our goal is to share information about our City in a concise and friendly manner, serving mainly residents but also visitors to our fine City.
Wapakoneta is a City of just under 10,000 people that sits near the crossroads of two major highways, US-75 and OH-33. We are part of the Tree City USA program. Wapakoneta is the birthplace of Neil Armstrong and home of the Armstrong Air & Space Museum.
A small city with a big heart, Wapakoneta offers a charming downtown with lots to explore, including many antique shops and other specialty stores. We have thriving industrial parks that are growing by leaps and bounds.
But most important are the people. A friendly spirit resides in Wapak, with the community pulling together when needed. A good number of strong service groups exist in Wapakoneta and continually help to make the City a better place. People are greeted with smiles everywhere you go!
To residents, thanks for stopping by and we hope you find what you’re looking for. Let us know how we can improve both the City and this website.
To those outside the area, if you haven’t visited Wapakoneta yet, stop by sometime! We think you’ll be glad you did.
