The Wapakoneta Tree Commission is a five-member volunteer board appointed by the mayor.  The Tree Commission is responsible for the care and maintenance of the existing city trees, community service, and public education.  The Tree Commission meets with the state arborist to help plan and manage the urban forest in the City of Wapakoneta.  The goal of the Tree Commission is to help educate and beautify our community.

     The City of Wapakoneta has been designated a Tree City USA community for 21 consecutive years.  Tree City USA designation has four major components:  A tree commission, a community tree ordinance, a community forestry program with an annual budget of at least $2 per capita, and an arbor day observation and proclamation.
