WAPAKONETA WATERPARK 2020 SWIM SEASON
The Wapakoneta Waterpark will be open for swimmers starting Saturday, June 6, 2020. The City of Wapakoneta is excited to offer safe, family friendly entertainment for the anticipated hot summer season, under the following operating structure:
2 Daily Swim Sessions
The 1st swim session will open from 11:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. daily. Only Wapakoneta school system area residents will be welcomed into the facility from 11:00 a.m. until 11:30. Then from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., the facility is open to the general public. The entry rate will be $4.00 per person for everyone over 2 years old. Children 2 and under are free. At 2: 30 p.m., the facility will close and all patrons will be required to exit the facility.
From 2:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., the facility will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, including the bathhouse offices, bathrooms and locker room area, as well as the exterior features, including slides, diving boards, playground, concession area, sandbox, chairs and picnic tables.
The 2nd swim session will be from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with again the first half hour, 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. being solely for entry of Wapakoneta school system area residents and those patrons from the first session that want to re-enter for the second session. At 3:30 p.m., the facility will be open to the general public. The entry rate will be $4.00 per person, except for those patrons that are re-entering from the first session and their fee will be $2.00. 2 years old and under are free.
In both sessions, and at all times, the attendance maximum number of people inside the facility will be 600. (This limit is subject to change without notice to ensure the safety of all patrons)
There will also be 2 specialty swim times
Adult swim will be Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with $2.00 entry fee per person. Lane/lap swimming will be Monday and Wednesday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 at $2.00 per swimmer.
We will not have Pool Memberships this year due to the Covid-19. We regret that due to all the restrictions that we have to abide by in opening the pool, it is not feasible to offer Pool Memberships this year.
At all times we will encourage safe, healthy social guidelines, including distancing and personal hygiene awareness to others. The Waterpark is a municipality facility, owned by the City of Wapakoneta and regulated by the Auglaize County Health Department rules and oversight. The Waterpark operating structure and procedures follows the Center for Disease Control recommendations as well as the Ohio Department of Health, local and public pools and aquatic centers recommendations and best practices.

The Wapakoneta Waterpark is a family-friendly facility. While your tattoos and your speech may express your personality, some images or words may be offensive to others. If we cannot come to an agreement about covering tattoos or using appropriate language, you may be asked to leave the park. Thank you for your cooperation.

Rain and Thunderstorms: The Waterpark will remain open unless thunder is heard or lightning seen. If either is noted, the pools and decks will be cleared, with a 30-minute break from the last thunder or lightning.
Tornado Watch: Waterpark staff will notify patrons should a tornado watch take effect (i.e., conditions are favorable for a tornado.)
Tornado Warning: The Waterpark staff will notify patrons should a tornado warning take effect. For the latter, patrons and staff will seek shelter in the changing rooms.
Closing the Waterpark
In addition to the weather-related closings described above, the Waterpark may close when fewer than 25 patrons are present.
The Cabana is a semi-private, shaded area with chairs and tables attached to the West Side of the Waterpark. You can rent it for birthdays, showers, family get-togethers; just $10 per hour (in addition to regular admission for all attendees). Contact Pool Manager for scheduling/rental information. The Cabana is only available during Waterpark’s regular operating hours.
